AI CV and resume screening

Every CV read for what the person actually did.

Firstview reads and screens each CV (resume) against what the role needs, counts only the experience that matches and gives a reason for every criterion.

The look-alike CV problem

When every CV copies the job post, keywords stop working.

Applicants now ask AI to rewrite their CV for each posting. The keywords match, the summaries sound the same, and a keyword filter passes them all. The 15-minute call then shows the experience was never there. Firstview reads the duties behind each job title, so a CV that only repeats your posting does not count as a match.

Watch it read a CV.

Firstview screens every CV on your criteria, with a reason for each criterion.

How the evaluation works

Set the criteria

Paste the job description or describe the role in a sentence. Firstview drafts the requirements, nice-to-haves and dealbreakers, and you can change any of them.

CV criteria

Read in context

Only experience whose duties match the role counts. “Stock” in a cashier role does not count as inventory management.

Explain every result

Matched, Not matched, Needs review or Not applicable, with points and a one-line reason.

Upload a folder, or one PDF with every CV in it.

Upload CVs in bulk as PDF, DOCX or TXT. Drop in a single merged PDF and Firstview splits it into candidates. Scanned PDFs are read too, and duplicates are skipped.

Questions about CV Screening

How do you screen hundreds of CVs with AI?

Upload them all at once, or share your public apply page so candidates apply directly, and Firstview evaluates each one against your criteria. Bulk uploads take PDF, DOCX or TXT files, or one merged PDF that Firstview splits into candidates, and every criterion comes with a one-line reason. Unclear CVs are marked “Needs review” for a person.

What is AI resume screening?

AI resume screening reads each CV (resume) against the role’s criteria instead of matching keywords. Firstview counts only the experience whose duties match the role, checks your dealbreakers and gives a reason for every criterion. A person decides who moves on.

How is this different from keyword filters in an ATS?

Keyword filters look for words. Firstview reads what the person did in each role and explains every result.

Does it reject candidates on its own?

No. A dealbreaker marks the CV, and unclear results go to “Needs review”. A person moves candidates.

Which files can I upload?

PDF, DOCX and TXT, including scanned PDFs.

Do I need an ATS?

No. Applications come in through your Firstview apply page or bulk upload.

Do I have to write the criteria myself?

No. Give Firstview the job description, or describe the role in a sentence, and it drafts the criteria: requirements, nice-to-haves and dealbreakers. You can edit, add or remove any of them.

Can I set knockout criteria?

Yes. Firstview calls them dealbreakers, for example a forklift certificate or a valid work permit. A CV that misses one is marked, and a person decides what happens next.

Do the CV criteria carry into the AI interview?

Yes. The criteria you set for sourcing are used to evaluate every CV and carry into the AI interview, so each candidate is judged by one standard, from sourcing to decision.

Works with the rest of Firstview

CV Screening evaluates each CV against the same role criteria that Sourcing uses, then hands them to the AI interview. The Notetaker files later interview notes next to the CV evaluation.
